Terms of service

Draft — last reviewed for this build, not by a lawyer. Replace before launch with a version your counsel has actually read.

What this is

thephoto.party provides a shared photo and video gallery for a single event, reachable by a join code or a link, without requiring guests to create an account.

Hosts are responsible for their guests

Whoever creates an event ("the host") is responsible for telling their own guests how photos from the event will be collected, shown and eventually deleted. We provide the tool; we don't attend the event.

What guests agree to by adding a photo

By adding a photo or video to an event, a guest confirms they have the right to share it and agrees it may be visible to other guests of that event (or held back, under disposable camera mode, until the host reveals it) for as long as the event's gallery exists.

What isn't allowed

  • Uploading content you don't have the right to share.
  • Uploading anything illegal, harassing, or intended to embarrass or harm another guest.
  • Attempting to access another event's gallery, admin controls, or guest list without authorization.

Hosts can remove any photo and block any guest at any time, for any reason connected to their own event.

Availability

We aim for the service to be available for the whole of an event, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access and aren't liable for photos lost because a guest's own device or connection failed to upload them.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date once this page leaves draft status.
